Hello and welcome to Sci-Fi Con 18! Can you believe we’ve been around for 18 years? Us either! This year our event again is to help benifit the Michael J. Fox Foundation in Second Life. Many things have changed this year, from staff to how the map room works, to how we’re handing everything.
So you’ve paid for your booth now what? While still in the map room, there is a floating astronaut. Find him (or ask one of our volunteers in the map room) and click him. He will hand you a Boother’s pack, containing example foot prints of the booth sizes (20×20, 32×32, 40×40, 52×52, and 64×64). These are provided to help you plan out your building within the boundaries of your alloted space. Heights of booths may vary depending on regions.
In this package you’ll also find instructions for the GOTO Sales hud submission. The owner, Rey Jag (Rey.Brandi) has been kind enough to offer us a charity item shopping hud experience for con goers this year. You’ll wear your Sci-Fi Con Designer tag, follow the land mark and grab your kit. Follow the instructions in the note card in this package plus use her kit and we’ll be all set! Please limit your charity item descriptions to 500 characters! Since we’ll have access to your plots before you do we will submit the URL to your plot to Rey for you, this way the hud will be prepared opening day.
Each region for the con this year has been specially designed by our builders, everything from map layouts to the roads. I want to thank them for being so amazing.
The pre con hunt! Inside this package you will also find the package for the pre con hunt, read through those instructions carefully the hunt is run by Kirk Wingtips this year and we hope you like the item we chose for you to hide.
You’ll also find full perm textures for the poster and our logo in this package for you to use as you see fit, be it on a sign or as on your charity items, we have also included the Michael J Fox Team Fox Logo for your use as well.
The Donation and Items Kiosks are in this package, and, ready to go so there is no waiting. Follow the instruction note card when you’re ready to use them, you can also put these in your stores to help start the clock on our fund raising. SELECT OUR TEAM from the drop down menu. if you don’t select our team the donations wont be credited to the Sci-Fi Con event.
In this note card you will also find a list of admin and their positions so if you need assistance you’ll know who to call for which department, and of course if they are not on we are still here to help.
This year we’re hoping for a better and more organized convention and that starts here.
