Whether you are a Starfleet officer, a wasteland survivor, or a Victorian time-traveler, remember that there is a real person behind every avatar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Harassment:<\/strong> We have a zero-tolerance policy for harassment, hate speech, or bullying.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Consent:<\/strong> Always ask before engaging in intensive role-play or using scripts that affect another person\u2019s avatar.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Script &amp; Complexity Limits<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Virtual space is shared space. To keep the regions running smoothly for everyone:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Watch Your Weight:<\/strong> Keep your Avatar Complexity and script memory as low as possible. If a volunteer or crew member asks you to &#8220;lighten your load&#8221; to help with lag, please do so promptly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>No Auto-Spammers:<\/strong> Boothers and visitors should disable any objects that &#8220;shout&#8221; text or hand out landmarks\/folders automatically to passersby.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Immersion and &#8220;The Vibe&#8221;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>While we celebrate &#8220;Sci-Fi Through the Eras,&#8221; we are still a <strong>General to Moderate<\/strong> rated event supporting Team Fox.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Keep it PG-13:<\/strong> Ensure your outfits and gestures are appropriate for a public charity event.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>No Combat Scripts:<\/strong> Unless it is a designated demonstration, please keep weapons sheathed and combat scripts turned off.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Resolving Conflicts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If a problem arises, don&#8217;t let it ruin your flight:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>De-escalate:<\/strong> If a situation is getting heated, step away or mute the individual.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Contact Security:<\/strong> If an individual is violating these rules, look for help in the Sci-Fi Con chat group.Sci-Fi Con crew members are empowered to mediate and, if necessary, remove disruptive users.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>By following these simple guidelines, we ensure that the only thing &#8220;exploding&#8221; at the Con are the spectacular visuals and the generosity of our donors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>To ensure Sci-Fi Con 18 remains a safe, fun, and immersive experience for everyone, we ask that participants stick to some basic rules and etiquette.
